Afghanistan ranselt Canada af in cricket-interland in Dubai

Het nationale Afghaanse cricketteam heeft zondag in het T20-kwalifacatietoernooi in de Verenigde Arabische Emiraten het team van Canada een lesje cricket geleerd.

In het Dubai International Cricket Stadium won Afghanistan met 41 runs van de Canadezen.

Vorige week versloegen de Afghanen onder meer Nederland en Denemarken al tijdens het toernooi in de Verenigde Arabische Emiraten.

Het Afghaanse persagentschap Pajhwok bericht: “Afghanistan thrashed Canada by 41 runs in their World T20 Qualifier match at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium in the United Arab Emirates on Sunday.”

De International Cricket Council (ICC) meldt zondag dat Afghanistan en Namibië na vijf wedstrijden nog ongeslagen zijn.

"Afghanistan and Namibia extended their unbeaten run in the ICC World Twenty20 Qualifier UAE 2012 to five matches after they won their respective matches on Sunday."

Afghanistan gaat aan kop in groep A, Namibië in groep B. Nederland staat in groep A op de tweede plaats.
